Events: NAACP Theatre Awards


Thanks to Avid Exposure, KRAVE Magazine covered the NAACP Theatre Awards in Hollywood this past Monday.

Celebrity Hosts were LisaRaye McCoy (UPN’s All of Us), Mehki Phifer (FOX’s Lie To Me). There were also many illustrious stars of stage, music and the big screen like Kenny Leon (Elton John’s musical Aida), Mr. Wren T. Brown (Star Trek: The Next Generation),  Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace) ( Bobby Valentino (Capitol Records R&B Recording Artist), Kim Coles (FOX’s Living Single), Quinton Aaron (Academy Award nominated The Blind Side), Brian White (Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself), Miguel Nunez (Lethal Weapon Three), Ruben Santiago-Hudson (ABC’s Castle), Hattie Winston (PBS’s Electric Company), Ernest Dillahay (Robey Theatre Company), Ted Lange (The Love Boat), Stogie Kenyatta (CBS’ Bold and the Beautiful), Richard Gant (TNT’s Men of a Certain Age), Ben Guillory (The Piano Lesson), James Avery (Fresh Prince of Bel Air), Wendy Raquel Robinson (The Steve Harvey Show), Kelly Price (R&B Singer), Hosea Chanchez (BET’s The Game), Hakeen Kae-Kazim (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End), Tasia Sherel (Everybody Hates Chris), Lance Gross (Our Family Wedding), Orlando Brown (That’s So Raven),  Nia Long, Sharon Leal (Why Did I Get Married Too), Tamera Mowry, Claudia Jordan  and many more.

About The NAACP Theatre Awards: The prestigious star-studded gala is produced in an effort to honor thespians of color among the best in the field of entertainment. The award show and two-day festival provides a platform for thespians to express their craft and share their contributions with an audience of their peers, the community and other individuals who crave live theatre in the ‘City of Angels’.
